A Musical Treat by Tim Wheater

A live performance by Tim Wheater and Natalie Shaw is an absolute treat in itself, and what's more, they take you on a journey of transformation via sound healing.

Starting off as a composer and flautist, he created several award winning albums that have been used by healers and therapists worldwide. His talent as a flautist was at some point temporarily taken because of a poisoning incident. With the healing power of mantra, his gift was recovered. Given a new release of life, he started to develop his ability as a vocalist and researched extensively on the healing power of sound and mantra. Today he dedicates himself to promoting the use of sound and vibration as a beneficial medium of healing and transformation through his performance, demonstration and teaching.

The setting was simple and uncomplicated. With two sets of two Gongs on each side, a range of different musical instruments was placed carefully in between: Tibetan bowls, crystal bowls, flutes, monochord sound chair, Shruti box, wawa, native American rattles and drums. The upper one of the two Gongs on the right is tuned to the vibration of the earth and the heart chakra. The one below is tuned to the sacral chakra - the centre of creativity. The upper one of the two Gongs on the left is tuned to the vibration of Platonic, and the lower, Uranus.

Together with Natalie Shaw, he performed spontaneously various instruments with melodic chanting woven into the resonant fabric of sound and vibration. Just when we melted into this peaceful state of expansion and oneness, he invited us to join him in state-altering mantra chanting. He then ended the concert with a state of the art demonstration of sound healing that brought us into harmony with All-That-Is.

Being Together

All that there is to me is "I".
"I" cannot die
so "I" cannot cry. (By R. G.)

These words inspired R one week before his mother's funeral when he was feeling extremely vulnerable. Patiently and compassionately he guided me to expand from the perspective of the "i" or "ego" that is called Nik, into "I" or "Ego" that is called God or the universe. As the sunbeam can never be separated from the sun, C and I have never parted. It's a strange, delicious, mystifying feeling.

The Rose Still Grows Beyond The Wall

A kind stranger who lost his mother a few years ago gave me this poem yesterday. In return, I sent him "Don't stand by my grave and weep" today. I do feel C's presence from time to time. Free-spirited, gallant and proud, his rose smiles back at the radiant sun beyond the thin veil between us.

The Rose Still Grows Beyond The Wall
By A.L. Frank

Near shady wall a rose once grew,
Budded and blossomed in God's free light,
Watered and fed by morning dew,
Shedding its sweetness day and night.

As it grew and blossomed, fair and tall,
Slowly rising to loftier height,
It came to a crevice in the wall
Through which there shone a beam of light.

Onward it crept with added strength;
With never a thought of fear or pride.
It followed the light through the crevice's length
And unfolded itself on the other side.

The light, the dew, the broadening view
Were found the same as they were before;
And it lost itself in beauties new,
Breathing its fragrance more and more.

Shall claim of death cause us to grieve,
And make our courage faint or fall?
Nay; let us faith and hope receive;
The rose still grows beyond the wall,

Scattering fragrance far and wide,
Just as it did in days of yore,
Just as it did on the other side,
Just as it will forevermore.
Don't stand by my grave and weep ...

Don't stand by my grave and weep,
For I am not there.
I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond's glint on snow,
I am the sunlight on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn's rain.
In the soft hush of the morning light
I am the swift bird in flight.
Don't stand by my grave and cry,
I am not there,
I did not die.

(Unknown Native American Author)
